| Deborah Strong , Vice President Commissioner Mrs. Strong has served on the Ypsilanti Housing Commission’s Board of Commissioners for 18 yrs. During this time she has served as both President as well as Vice President. Mrs. Strong is very committed to children’s issues. She has served as a Teen Advisor for the Ypsilanti Jack and Jill, worked with the Infant Mental Health Association of Michigan, served on the Board of the Student Advocacy Center of Michigan as well as the MSU Families and Children Together (FACT) Advisory Committee. With all of his advocacy for children’s issues, it is not surprising that Mrs. Strong holds a B.S. degree in Special Education (k-12) as well as a M.A. degree in Education from Eastern Michigan University. Also Institute for Education Leadership Fellow (IEL), Washington, DC Post Graduate Work Mrs. Strong was the Executive Director for the Michigan Children’s Trust Fund for over nine years. Although currently retired, he remains busy as the President and CEO of Strong & Associates while she turns ideas into reality. | ![]() |

When she is not doing this by Volunteering as a board member at Ypsilanti Housing Commission, he advocates for others through his church. Ms. Smith is a member of Northridge Church in Plymouth, Michigan. In his leisure time she enjoys vacationing with family and friends, attending sporting events and golfing. | ![]() |
